Genesis

Many a time my thought process goes haywire and I try to find out answers ............

Answers to question not related to me, not related to the ones around me. The answer to questions on which are paranormal. Questions which stand in front of me quite often and say "Try Me!!" Questions which are about our planet, our planetary neighbors and their "Possible" inhabitants, things that we can see and things which can't see, our existence and above all our Extinction.

So, here's the first step towards the Conquest of the Quest .................... here's the Genesis.

So, as a first step, here's what I plan to put up - a paper I published in my school when I was in Class 9th when I was roughly 13 years old and I had the liberty to be scientifically inaccurate and come up with these weird imaginations in the pretext of being naive. The article was called the Prometheus Project - Origins of Life on Planet Earth and what follows below is the word by word digital replication of what I wrote in the paper.

In Greek mythology, the God Prometheus was banished from Olympus for giving humans the knowledge of fire, something that would put humans right up there by the sides of Gods on the power scale. Fire - the creator and destroyer altered the course of Human development and brought them to the position where they are right now. Humans are the new God.

So, what if Prometheus not only gave Fire to Humans, but he also defined Life on Earth. Who was that Prometheus and that quest defines the ethos of my imagination. When the Solar System was settling down on its comfortable couch that it so gleefully enjoys today, the young Sun was around 10% brighter and larger than what it currently is around 3.5 billion years ago. Which basically meant that Venus was inward of the goldy lock zone, Earth was just inside the goldy lock zone, and Mars was situated right in between the middle and outer edge of the goldy lock zone. This directly meant that Mars not only had the opportunity to cool down faster than Earth, it also meant that the conditions on Mars were just right for Life even before Earth had a chance to see it's first single cell organisms. Mars was the heaven of the Solar System.

Getting a head start in Cosmic terms goes a long way, a really long way so to speak - Mars not only had the opportunity to kick start life first but also, it had the opportunity to advance in the journey and harbor intelligent life on the planet way earlier than Earth too. Imagine two Life sustaining planets in the same Solar System - Any intelligent life form in such a system would have a field day for civilization expansion.

However, if you are running across a shooting range, chances are - one day or the other, a bullet would find you and same would have happened with Mars - the Hellas Planitia is the glaring mark left by that impact. Imagine the sheer destruction that would have ensued after an impact that would create the biggest impact crater in the Solar System to this day, and that too on a planet that has the biggest volcano in the Solar System - the magnanimous Olympus Mons. The impact doomed the planet for eternity - the rotating core of the planet stopped, which meant that the magnetic field of the planet would deteriorate and eventually would make the planet inhabitable.

Faced with inexplicable and inescapable odds, any intelligent life form would have two come to terms with two alternatives -

  • Find a New Home - Any intelligent life form would be able to track such a doomsday extinction level event way before it actually happens and would have had the time to think about how to leave the planet and ensure the continuance their way of life. It would require some reality-altering science wizardry to accomplish this, but then science is always evolving and I would like to believe, given enough time, any intelligent life form would eventually figure it out. Considering that planet Earth would have been barely habitable at that point in time, the then Martian civilization would have either tried to warp space and time to get into a new Solar System within a single life span and reach may be Alpha Centauri and face insurmountable odds settling into a new Star system, or try and settle beneath the water surface of the newly formed oceans of Planet Earth
  • Ensure Continuance of their Genome - Considering that Finding a New Home is not feasible, then the only option left is to ensure the continuance of their genome on a newly formed habitable planet - Earth. The chosen Prometheus would have to give his own life to ensure the survival of the genome. The chosen Prometheus would have to disintegrate at a genetic level into the organics rich hot water of the newly formed oceans of planet Earth so that the genetic material from this Martian can bond with the organics brought in from outer space and form the strain of life that would thrive in the conditions of the planet.
I believe, that the Martians chose both the options at the same time, and we are the descendants of the Prometheus from Mars who gave us the power of Life and thus ensured that before going to another star system, their home system has their genome surviving and ultimately thriving.

The Prometheus Project is the Genesis of Life of Earth.
